PSYCHIC SELF-DEFENSE

This is probably one of the most important chapters you will read on your journey with me. Psychic Self-Defense is a useful practice for your everyday living and an absolute must if you are doing any type of energy work.

Earlier in the book I have touched on the value of psychic self-defense and some of the reasons why you need to practice it. Now I am going take this concept further to help you understand just why it is so important. In this chapter, I will explain some things that I believe you instinctively already know.

Let’s start by looking at the physical world that we live in and commonplace protection methods that almost all of us follow. Do you lock your doors at night? Do you wear a seatbelt when driving? Do you have car, health, house, or life insurance policies? Do you have an alarm system for your car or house? Do you take extra precautions when you travel to a new location or an unfamiliar neighborhood? We protect ourselves from the weather by using coats, boots, hats, umbrellas, and gloves. We shelter ourselves from the external forces by constructing homes with sturdy roofs and walls. We place our valuables in banks, safes, and secret hiding places. We use passwords to access our computers and our financial accounts. Nations spend billions of dollars to protect their citizens from possible enemies and potential attacks. Maintaining our security is paramount and the list of our methods of protection in this day and age is overwhelmingly complex.

WHY DO WE PROTECT OURSELVES?

The answer to why we go to such lengths to protect ourselves is quite simply to avoid problems as much as we possibly can and ultimately to feel safe and secure. We see the value in creating security. Whether we choose to lock our doors or install an alarm system is still up to us, right? It’s our choice to use protection, and our risk if we don’t. Let’s consider a group of assailants that are usually invisible to the naked eye, but which we still go out of our way to protect ourselves from: bacteria, viruses, cancers, and other causes of disease.

We are constantly informed by government agencies, the medical community, scientists, and the news media about countless ways to protect our health. For instance, we are told to eat vegetables high in beta carotene to prevent cancer, not to overcook meats or they may be carcinogenic, to wash our hands often when handling food because of salmonella poisoning, and to limit our intake of sodium, fat, and sugar. We know that if we are not very careful about how and who we have sex with, we can catch some sexually transmitted disease, which could possibly be fatal. Today, condoms are available at local drug stores and health clinics and even passed out in some schools. Why? To protect us. The “us” being protected is the physical part of us. But you already know or you are now realizing that there is much more to you than your physical body.
